Module 1
Homework

_____________________________________

WHAT:

Your Module 1 homework is super simple– it simply involves meeting with your group and getting to know the other members! Woot woot! By now you already should have received an email with your small group assignment, and you also should have already set up a group meeting time that falls within the Module 1 timeframe (see course schedule here).

Please note: Each module’s homework documents have been specially created for use within the “Move-lah Group Experience” version of the e-guide, which is an in depth version of the e-guide that only opens up only a few times per year. If you are taking the regular version of this e-guide, you will not have a group meeting to attend. You may simply disregard the “group” portion of the homework documents and complete only the “solo” sections. (Alternatively, you may also choose to group together with other members within the Facebook community and hold your own informal group meetings.)

HOW:

Completing your homework is EASY & FUN!

Click on the blue box above to view your homework instructions/ overview, as well as a group agenda for your meeting (download it by right-clicking and selecting “save as”).

Click on the orange box to view/download your fillable worksheets that correspond with this module’s homework.

The tutorial video below will explain how to the homework documents are laid out, as well as showing the process for opening/saving/filling out the documents. If you have any troubles, you can also ask your group leader (Move-lah participants) or the support team (support@theunlost.com) for assistance.

Here’s a quick summary of the homework instructions:

(Remember: The group meetings and group portions of each module’s homework will NOT apply to you if you are taking the regular version of this guide. If this is the case, you may simply disregard the “group” portion of the homework documents and complete only the “solo” sections. Alternatively, you may also choose to group together with other members within the Facebook community and hold your own informal group meetings.)

The homework steps are covered inside the homework docs, but the description below is designed to give you a quick additional breakdown of the group meeting/homework process.

1. BEFORE YOUR MEETING: You should have already done all the pre-work such as getting a group meeting time set up (your group leader will initiate this), testing out Google + Hangouts, etc. If you need a refresher, this was covered in the GPS section under Group Essentials.

2. DURING YOUR MEETING: During your group meeting, follow the group meeting agenda shown on page 3 of the instructional homework document. Below is a summary of the group agenda, along with video clip examples for a few of the exercises. [Important: make sure you’ve carefully reviewed the “Reflections” section of the GPS prior to your meeting! :-)]

      • Introductions: To start off, each person should introduce him or herself, telling the group about themselves and about their current career & life situation (including why they joined the course and what they’re hoping to get out of it). After each person introduces him/her self, another person in the group should REFLECT! Below is an example of the introduction and reflection process to help you get an idea of how it works.

      • Completions: In this exercise, we delve a bit deeper beneath the surface and get an even clearer picture of each group member’s current career/life situation. See the instructional homework document for more details on the exercise, and watch the video below for some solid examples of Completions in action!

    • Questions: If you have time, take a few minutes to talk with your group about one or more of the discussion questions that were listed throughout the Module. (The discussion questions are listed on page 4 of the instructional homework document.)
    • Wrap-up: To close each meeting, each group member should share ONE WORD that best describes his or her experience with the group. You can also elaborate on your word with a sentence or two if you’d like. Easy enough– no examples needed here. WOOOO!!!
    • During (or after) your meeting, take some notes on about your group members &/or journal about your group experience using worksheets SOLO TWO & SOLO THREE of the fillable homework worksheets.

3. AFTER YOUR MEETING: Visit the Submit Move-lah page on or before the due date in order to “pay Move-lah” and gain access to Module 2! (Move-lah submission applies to “Move-lah Group Experience” members only.)

WHEN:

Module 1 Move-lah is due Sunday, May 5th before midnight ET. (Due date applies to “Move-lah Group Experience” members only.)
