Module 4
4.2: Creating Your Aliveness Compass

CREATE YOUR ALIVENESS COMPASS

As you’ll recall from Module 3, your aliveness compass is what helps guide your E & E (Experimentation & Evolution) process. It’s what helps you determine that you’re headed in the right direction, even if you aren’t sure yet exactly where you’re going.

For the past week, you’ve been tracking and observing the times when you feel “least alive” and “most alive.”

Now it’s time to take note of the overall patterns that you notice within your observations. And so that you don’t get caught up in “The Mistake of the WHAT,” I want you to look specifically at all five of the aliveness categories while analyzing your aliveness observations.

Create your compass by reviewing the aliveness observations you’ve tracked over the past week (as a part of your Module 3 homework) and by making note of any general patterns that stand out to you within each of the five aliveness categories: The Who, The Where, The Why, The What, and The Qualities.

(This is actually the first solo exercise within your Module 4 homework– you can get started now using the Module 4 SOLO ONE homework worksheet).

Below, I’ve included brief video clips showing one of my lovely group members, Elan, talking through the compass-creation process with me. You don’t have to watch them all if you don’t want to, but they can be helpful in illustrating the process.

What stands out to you about “THE WHOS” that make you feel most alive?

What stands out to you about “THE WHERES” that make you feel most alive?

What stands out to you about “THE WHYS” that make you feel most alive?

What stands out to you about “THE WHATS” that make you feel most alive?

What stands out to you about “THE QUALITIES” that make you feel most alive?

Summarize your answers within the Module 4 SOLO ONE homework worksheet.

YESSSSS!!!!! Your aliveness compass has now begun to take form.
